Blogoversary Bash: Day 1

Today is the first day of my Blogoversary Week! I've been blogging for three years now and to celebrate I asked some of my best book blogging buddies if they wanted to celebrate with me. Today the lovely Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl is sharing her
Top Three Favorite Book Quotes

First of all, congratulations to Karin on her third blogoversary! This is huge, and I'm so glad I get to be a part of the festivities. :) Karin is a lovely friend of mine, and we have so much fun talking about books and life.

Karin's blogoversary theme is Top Three… in honor of three awesome years of blogging. I've chosen to feature my top three favorite book quotes, but honestly who can ever pick their top three favorite anythings when it comes to bookish stuff? Basically, I have millions of favorites. But there are some of my REALLY favorite favorites!

"Somehow difficulties are easier to endure when you know your dream is waiting for you at the end."
- The Golden Spiral by Lisa Mangum

I love this trilogy, and this quote is amazing. Don't we all get bogged down by our trials and stressful lives? I know I do, and this quote reminds me that there's always something good further down the road.

"Is it possible for home to be a person and not place?"
- Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Have you ever loved someone so much that home is wherever they are? I know that's how I am with my mom and my sister. And someday I'll have a mister whom I feel this way about!

"I guess I work in small ways. It's kind of like this story someone told me, about a guy on the beach in Mexico throwing starfish in the sea. Thousands had washed ashore. Someone asked him why--'Why are you wasting your time when there are so many? You can't possibly make a difference.'

I know that story! The man threw another one back and said…

'Made a difference to that one!' Rowan finishes."
- Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard

My dream is to change peoples' lives. It always has been. I've worked with children and taught them to read or speak English. I've mentored teenage girls in ways of love and life. Sometimes I wonder if I'm really making a difference. But really, sometimes it's the smallest things that make all the difference. And sometimes you can try to help 50 people, but only reach one of them. Is that person not important, though? Is that person not worth helping? This quote reminds me that every person is unique and important, and that everyone needs someone.

Thanks so much for having me, Karin, and happy blogoversary! I wish you MANY more happy years of blogging and reading. :)

Thank you so much Jana for sharing these quotes with us. I personally adore the quote from Anna and the French Kiss because I truly believe that. Come back tomorrow for another guestpost by one of my favorite book people.

What an achievement! Three years of blogging and I always loved to read what you wrote about.

Jana, thank you for those quotes, they are great. I especially liked the one with the starfish. Let's make a difference for someone!
