TGIF is a
weekly meme hosted by the amazing Ginger at GReads!
This week
she wants to know:
Unexpected
Books:
Which books
did you have reservations about reading, but ended up loving once you did?
I have to
say that Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments series fall into this
category. I love Cassandra Clare’s books and her way of writing but I had some
reservations before starting City of Bones.
My mum tends to look down on paranormal books and it was hard work to convince
her that these books are awesome and every time I tell her how amazing these
books are I think she does not quite believe me.

Another
example would be the books from Walter Moers. He is a German author and writes
creative fantasy books. You cannot compare him to any other fantasy author I
know. I love Terry Pratchett so much and admire him for all the ideas he put
into his Discworld series and Walter Moers is a bit similar. His books are set
in a fictional world called Zamonia which is inhabited by really weird characters;
bears, witches, gigantic spiders, lindworms, etc. I think all his stories are
set in Zamonia and deal with one specific species who tells his story.
I enjoyed your thoughts on which books you were reserved about, but loved. I’m glad I dropped by from TGFI. I am your newest follower.
