...in books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish.

This week's question is:

Top Ten Books That Make You Think (About The World, People, Life, etc.)

A friend once asked me why I read so much and I answered that reading was pleasure and entertainment! A way to leave my own life and enter the lives of others! But does reading for entertainment mean that I only read books that don’t make me think? No! I often find a book (of any genre) get to me and make me think about my life, goals and dreams I have, friends I lost along the way and places I have to visit.

Those ten books first came to my mind when thinking about my this week's question:

The Year of the Unexpected by Erica Bauermeister (read my review)
friendship, facing your fear and doing what you always wanted to do

The To-Do List by Mike Gayle
if you have goals in life start tackling them!

Die for me by Amy Plum (read my review)
it made me realize that I need to give Paris a second chance. I visited it once and didn’t like it but I’m willing to change my mind.

Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson (read my review)
Roadtrip!!!! My favourite kind of holiday and that I need to do some more.

Teacher, Teacher by Jack Sheffield
It reminded me never to forget why I am studying to become a teacher and that it is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world.

My Life in France by Julia Child
I sometimes forget how much I like to cook and how great, rewarding and plain awesome cooking and creating can be.

The Friendship Bread by Darien Gee (read my review)
loosing loved ones and the hard way of a mother recovering with the help of wonderful friends. It sounds extremely sad but it wasn’t. It just leaves you with a warm and happy feeling.

Those Faraday Girls by Monica McInerney (read the author interview with her)
a family novel that just left me with a feeling I still cannot describe (a year after I read it)

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
never judge someone by the first impression

each and every Italy based novel I read
made me think of the country I love so much it always hurts when I’m leaving it

  1. Oh, I have to try Paris, but I'm actually a little scared I won't like it either and then I'll be hugely disappointed!

  2. P&P!!!! My favorite book ever. For some reason I didn't add it to my list. I was probably thinking I shouldn't have P&P in every list I create. I love that book so much. It might be time for a re-read.
